At the center of the enchanting rolling meadows, resided a boy named Shepherd. His being was mostly pure, simple yet virtuous. His only responsibility was essentially to look after his flock of sheep.
Their gentle baas and the rustling of the wind through the single tree on the peak were his constant companions. Day upon day, looking out for his charges inculcated in him a sense of calm satisfaction.

The boy giggled at the puzzle on their faces. This trick laughed for a few more days. However, one day, a real wolf actually come to prey the flock. The shepherd boy dashed for help, shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one responded.
Frustrated and alone, the here boy battled against the wolf but managed to protect only few of his flock. Devastated, he went back to the village only to be met with a lesson on honesty and the results of crying wolf.
The story of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the value of honesty, the consequences of lying and the dangers of false alarms. Moreover, it stresses how trust once lost, is hard to earn back. It's a story as appropriate today as it was anciently.
